Isaac Simpson Hayes
Isaac Simpson Hayes, my g-g-grandfather, was born Dec. 14, 1812 per the Bible record in my possession (which does not name a birth location). Click the BIBLE RECORDS link to the left to see it.

The purpose of this site is to locate information about Isaac's ancestors. Anything you can share will be appreciated! Click the BACKGROUND link to the left for details of Isaac's life.

Are you a descendant?  see: www.peerygenealogy.com/home/ui14.htm for known ones.

For my pre-DNA research click the HAYES TRAILS link to the left. "Apologies Lost To The Pines" contains my entire genealogy portfolio, and is available at the Clayton Genealogy Library in Houston. Major surnames are: Clegg, Barclay, Riley, Kirkland, Hayes, Sumrall, Durham and Marshall.

Via DNA, we've moved Isaac's "brick wall" back to the mid-1700s. Click MY DNA MARKERS to the left and  read the rest of this site.

DNA UPDATE: I match 25 of 25 markers to a living descendant of William Hays, born circa 1745. This William Hays family of Kentucky is well-documented! See:
www.breathittcounty.com/HayesFamily.html

DNA UPDATE: Our new match with the surname HAY.

UPDATE: A handwritten document composed in 1915 by a grandson of William Hays, born circa 1745, has been discovered. It states 5 Scottish brothers named HAY were the first of our ancestors in America.
